Day 1 : Ride from Escazu to Hermosa beach (on the Pacific Coast). This day is a very mountainous ride, starts with dirt roads in Escazu into the top of the central valley, then twisty roads in real good shape and fun thru the central valley. We will have lunch in the town of Santa Marta and from there we take the Twisty valley of Lanas –Galan, with spectacular views and fun roads. This portion of our tour brings us close to Marea Brava Hotel at Hermosa Beach.
Day 2 : Ride from Jaco Beach to the Aserri Mountains taking a different route than the one used to arrive at Hermosa. We ride from Jaco to Orotina, nice coastal road, passing the famous crocodile bridge, then climb towards San Jose thru the twisties of the Northern central valley.
We have lunch at Palmichal. Then we start climbing towards Aserri at 2,000 meters with great views of the main coffee plantations. We then continue climbing through the coffee field dual tracks also featuring many turns and spectacular scenery, taking us to Hotel Alta Vista with a spectacular view of the city of San Jose.
Day 3 : Ride from Aserri to Volcan Turrialba Lodge. We start descending thru coffee field roads and some nice deserted roads towards Cartago City (the old Capital of Costa Rica), then cross the valley where we'll find more scenery and cool temperatures as we gain altitude from 3,000 to 10,000 feet. The ride consists of some wide carpet golf course grass sections, dual track and mountain road then visit Volcan Irazu after this we ride some twisties and several different types of terrain volcanic ash to arrive at Albergue Volcan Turrialba Lodge at the base of the volcano and at 3,000 meters altitude.
Day 4 : Ride from Volcano Turrialba Lodge to La Suiza. First we start with a ride to the top of Volcan Turrialba, then we continue towards Turrialba city, and the valley into La Suiza, one of the prettiest places in Costa Rica and with the only Indian reservations in the country still left, it’s a twisty ride thru the valley on groomed dirt, after lunch we go visit the Cabecar Indian reservation We stay at the Lodge in La Suiza with nice homemade food.
Day 5 : Ride from La Suiza to San Jose, we climb towards Guayabo area usually above the clouds, with a different type of scenery and terrain we ever encountered before, Easy wide dirt roads in the morning and mountain roads in the afternoon cooler weather also, and we have lunch overlooking the Turrialba Valley, then the return to San Jose.
