Day 1 : San José to Hermosa Beach: This day is a very mountainous ride, we’ll start in the skirts of the Escazú Mountains and will head to the Famous twisties between the mountain town of Puriscal and San Pedro de Turrubares, From there we’ll cross the famous suspended bridge towards Orotina (mango town), on our final drive we’ll stop to see the Crocodiles in the Tarcoles river, ending the day in a nice beach resort at Playa Hermosa (Puntarenas Province).
Day 2 : Playa Hermosa to Playa Tamarindo: We’ll ride through the Pacific Coastal road towards the north passing the Port of Caldera riding a long flat section for a change with easy relaxing roads, from there we’ll head towards the Tempisque River bridge, a long strait nice road overlooking the Nicoya Peninsula known for its vast extension. We’ll go through several towns finally arriving at a nice hotel by the beach at the lively town of Tamarindo.
Day 3 : Playa Tamarindo to Volcán Arenal: This day we’ll start heading towards the town of Cañas on our way to Tilarán famous for the windmill farms with lots of fun riding with long sweepers, then surrounding Lake Arenal (manmade Dam) with more magnificent views of the lake and Arenal Volcano on the background, staying the night at a lodge overlooking the active volcano.
Day 4 : Volcán Arenal to Volcan Poas: We’ll start the day riding through agricultural region, through sugarcane fields, cattle farms and various rural land. We’ll check out the famous Iguana bridge in Muelle. From there we’ll ride and visit the La Paz Waterfalls and end our day at a British style mountain lodge.
Day 5 : Volcán Poas – San José: We’ll start the day by visiting the Volcan Poas national park (another active volcano) that offers some hiking trails as an option for those who feel like stretching their legs. We’ll ride down through the town of San Pedro de Poás on our way to the Central Valley and San José.
